Nicki Rowland is a former dental practice manager and was voted into the top 50 of the UK’s most influential people in dentistry in 2021. She is now a successful Practice Management Consultant and Coach, working with practices right across the UK.
Having owned a dental practice in East Yorkshire, Nicki was witness to a never-ending stream of children with severe oral health needs. This was the instigator for launching The Magic Dentist campaign and for her initially writing The Magic Dentist children’s book, which is beautifully illustrated by her daughter Izzy.
Fiona had helped Nicki with publicity when she owned her dental practice and there was no-one else Nicki would have turned to with such an important project, which is so close to her heart.

Children’s oral health and the difficulty families are having getting NHS appointments is a hot topic in the media. It was, therefore, crucial to elevate The Magic Dentist Campaign so that it was ‘heard’ above these other stories.
With carefully targeted pitches to the media, FDPR was able to achieve incredible coverage on both regional and national TV and radio, including BBC Breakfast News and BBC Radio Scotland, as well as in newspapers and magazines and on podcasts.
